After researching 12 Bluetooth keyboards in 2019 and testing 8 of them, in addition to the 30 keyboards we’ve tested over the past two years, we’ve found that the Logitech K380 Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboard is still the best choice for most people. Not only is it pleasant to use, compact, and versatile, but nothing else we tested offers the same balance of price and features.
Our pick
Logitech K380 Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboard
The Logitech K380 offers the best balance of comfort, features, and price.
Buying Options
*At the time of publishing, the price was $32.
You can pair the Logitech K380 Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboard with up to three devices and switch between them with a press of a button; we’re still waiting for most Bluetooth keyboards to catch up to this useful, years-old design. The keyboard itself is comfortable and responsive. It’s also solid enough for desktop or lap use, yet it’s small and light enough for you to slip it in a bag and take it with you throughout the day. Logitech says the K380 has up to two years of battery life with heavy use—defined as eight hours a day, five days a week—and our writers and editors have used it for long enough to support that claim. The K380’s unusual round keys may take some getting used to, and the keyboard lacks backlighting like other Bluetooth keyboards in this price range.

Logitech K780 Multi-Device Wireless Keyboard
The Logitech K780 is more enjoyable to use and more affordable than any other wireless keyboard with a built-in number pad. Plus, it can connect via Bluetooth or USB dongle. Best laser printer for mac black and white.
Buying Options
*At the time of publishing, the price was $68.
If you need a keyboard with a built-in number pad or want to connect to a computer or device without Bluetooth, we suggest the Logitech K780 Multi-Device Wireless Keyboard. The K780 also comes with Logitech’s Unifying wireless USB dongle, but it is otherwise very similar to the K380—offering the same comfortable round keys, multidevice Bluetooth pairing, and estimated two years of battery life. It adds a number pad and a stylish built-in stand for smartphones and tablets, too. It's less portable than the K380, and the addition of a number pad pushes your mouse arm to the right, worsening ergonomics. It also lacks a backlight.

Buying Options
If you don't use a number pad frequently but do need one sometimes, we recommend the K380 paired with a standalone numpad. Satechi’s Bluetooth Wireless Numeric Keypad is inexpensive, responsive, and equipped with navigation-key functions. Satechi seems to offer the best options when it comes to Bluetooth number pads, and this particular number pad is still the best bet when you consider its value.

Why you should trust us
Justin Krajeski has tested, lived with, and reviewed hundreds of computer accessories and has been using the Logitech K380 since 2016. In fact, he’s using one to write this guide right now (while bopping his head to Nasty Cherry’s “Win”). With the help of his editor, Kimber Streams, he was able to separate the keyboard-chaff from the keyboard-grain. Kimber previously tested 25 Bluetooth and wireless keyboards—with input from four panelists—for a previous iteration of this guide.
Phil Dzikiy reviewed hundreds of tech accessories during his tenure at iLounge. He retested our top picks against the strongest competition in 2017.
Who this is for
Wireless and Bluetooth keyboards can help you declutter your desk, type more comfortably on your phone or tablet, or use a computer or TV streaming box while remaining comfortably perched on your couch. Desktops, laptops, tablets, phones, smart TVs, and streaming boxes all use Bluetooth, and the best Bluetooth keyboards can switch easily between multiple devices without requiring you to re-pair them. Although they used to be more expensive than their wireless counterparts, they’re getting cheaper all the time. Most manufacturers are focused on making Bluetooth keyboards rather than wireless models, too, which means more choices and higher-quality keyboards.
All of our picks are Bluetooth keyboards, not traditional RF (radio frequency) wireless keyboards, but we have a pick that supports both Bluetooth and RF wireless with a USB dongle, if that’s what you require.
Best Keyboard For Mac
If you want to use a Bluetooth keyboard but your computer doesn’t support Bluetooth, you can buy a Bluetooth 4.0 dongle for about $13 as of the time of writing. Like an RF adapter, it will occupy a USB port on your computer, but it will let you pair your machine with other Bluetooth accessories like gamepads, mice, and speakers.
